Managing Pain from Fibromyaglia

I just thought I would share some simple ways I've learned to manage pain from fibromyaglia, especially since I've had such a tough week from the weather changes.

1) Find ways to relax. Relaxing eases the tight muscles and helps to stop the stress which triggers the pain in the first place. When I've needed to relax, I've done things like drink wine, drink tea, ask for a massage from my husband (using nice oils), take a hot bath with Burt's Bee's bath salts, use a hot tub.

2) Eat certain foods. Staying away from heavy foods with a lot of grease, oil, cheese, fat, etc. in them have helped. In fact, good things to eat include salmon, pineapple, curry, pad thai. These have been the best for me.

3) Use pain creams. I really like tiger balm and icy hot. This helps to deeply relax me.

4) Use pain pills if necessary. This is my last option since I try to stay away from medicine, but aleve works well for OTC meds.
